We share our knowledge and expertise with nurse practitioner students at no cost. Shaping the future of health care is important to us.
In addition to knowledge about medication, we ensure our students are able to understand the whole patient. The head is affected by the entire body, family, friends, work, community, politics, and other outside factors. We take into account all of those in our individualized care plans.

Clara Dessources was a daughter, sister, niece, friend, and a nurse who was born and raised in Jerez, Spain. She was the daughter of Joseph Carl Dessources M.D. and Piedad Loza. Clara died from a completed suicide and left her family way too soon. Her death could have been prevented with proper mental health care. Her death led the founder of Lake Linganore Psychiatry, Marie Sheila Tate, to devote her life to caring for patients with mental illness.
The Clara Dessources Memorial Scholarship will be awarded once a year to a nurse of Haitian descent living in the United States who is enrolled in a psychiatric nurse practitioner program in the United States.
Award amount $500. 2025 cycle closed.
Fritz and Maude Bernardin immigrated to the United States from Haiti to further their education. They believed that a good education was the key to success in life. They were both very generous with time and talents. This scholarship is for young adults enrolled in trade school or college who need help with their educational expenses.
Award amount $1000. 2025 cycle closed.
